Shirley draws on experience in a large corporate, yet small development environment, amongst highly intelligent and technical experts. She had a technical career herself involving IT computer hardware design, and design automation development through the rapid development needs of   large scale integration in 1980's.

Shirley will empathise with you, but will expect you to take action and monitor results, the monitoring and understanding being a fundamental output of coaching. Personal development is very important to her, and she aims to instil this desire in her clients.

Shirley is equally at home in practical or academic circles, and has become business-oriented, through changes in funding strategy of the 'research and development' environment she has mostly worked in, and running her own business.  

She has been a natural choice for technical leadership, because of her easy understanding of others' needs, and her drive to push forwards whatever the challenges. As a project manager in her more recent career she has gained experience in how to best manage teams (and stakeholders) and develop individuals to maximise smooth operations and results matching expectations.
